.22 Caliber Fly Buster

The 22 Fly Buster is a recreational fun shoot with trophies awarded for the top shooters in each division. The match is 10 rounds total, 5 rounds fired at each of two distances. There are two classifications, a 4X and an Unlimited. Shooters with 4 power scopes (or less) can enter the 4X class, while shooters with any scope over 4 power can enter the Unlimited class. The 4X class will have targets placed at 25 and 50 yards, the Unlimited class will have targets placed at 50 and 75 yards. You will have 5 minutes to fire 5 rounds at the targets for score, one round per target. You may fire an unlimited number of spotter rounds at the designated area of your target. Any target with more than 1 hole will not be counted.

The object of this match is to "behead" the fly. Head, body, leg, and wing hits count also, but not as much as a complete removal of the head. The diameter of the .22 bullet is ever-so slightly larger than the head of the fly, making the "beheading" possible, but challanging. Shooters may enter in one of two classes, Sporter Rifle and/or Target Rifle.
